Noninvasive Detection of Appliance Utilization Patterns in Residential Electricity Demand

چکیده

Smart meters with automatic meter reading functionalities are becoming popular across the world. As a result, load measurements at various sampling frequencies now available. Several methods have been proposed to infer device usage characteristics from household measurements. However, many techniques based on highly intensive computations that incur heavy computational costs; moreover, they often rely private information. In this paper, we propose technique for detection of appliance utilization patterns using low-computational-cost algorithms do not require any information about households. Appliance identified only system status behavior, represented by large datasets, dimensionality reduction and clustering algorithms. Principal component analysis, k-means, elbow method used define clusters, minimum spanning tree is visualize results show appearance patterns. Self organizing maps create classifier. We applied our two public datasets different countries, United Kingdom (UK-DALE) US (REDD), The enable effective demand-side management, while classifier can detect malfunctions through analyses.

Residential Electricity Disaggregation: Identifying Appliance Usage Patterns

The complex modern day issues of energy and sustainability can be approached from several angles. Addressing such large scale issues requires not only large scale fixes, but also small scale solutions. One particularly interesting and promising area of small scale research involves residential energy use. In the United States, residential energy consumption represents 21% of total primary consu...

Rational habits in residential electricity demand

Dynamic partial adjustment models of residential electricity demand account for the fact that households may not adjust electricity consumption immediately in response to changes in prices, income, and other relevant factors, because of behavioral habits or adjustment costs for the capital stock of appliances. However, forward-looking behavior is generally neglected. Expectations about future p...

Estimation of Electricity Demand in Residential Sector Using Genetic Algorithm Approach

This paper aimed at estimation of the per capita consumption of electricity in residential sector based on economic indicators in Iran. The Genetic Algorithm Electricity Demand Model (GAEDM) was developed based on the past data using the genetic algorithm approach (GAA). The economic indicators used during the model development include: gross domestic product (GDP) in terms of per capita and ...

The Residential Demand for Electricity in New England

The residential demand for electricity, studied on the national level for many years, is here investigated on the regional level. A survey of the literature is first presented outlining past econometric work in the field of electrical energy demand. An econometric model is then presented using a 1970 cross-section of sixty-seven New England electric utilities and their service areas as the data...

Estimating Elasticity for Residential Electricity Demand in China

Residential demand for electricity is estimated for China using a unique household level dataset. Household electricity demand is specified as a function of local electricity price, household income, and a number of social-economic variables at household level. We find that the residential demand for electricity responds rather sensitively to its own price in China, which implies that there is ...
